iOS 5 Announced Officially, Coming Out This Fall

With the iPhone 5 on its way, Monday the 6th, Apple has officiallyios5 announced their new operating system, iOS 5, which will be compatible with the iPhone 3G and 3GS, iPhone4, iPad and iPad 2.

These are some of iOS 5′s new features:

Notification Center. All your notifications will be received on your iOS gadget. This includes Friend requests, emails, texts, weather etc.They will be accessed by simply swiping down on any screen. You will be alerted at the top of the screen each time there’s a new notification, even on the Lock screen.

Game Center. Now you can add a picture to your profile, compare your achievements, make and receive recommendations based on your favorite games.

iMessage: Unlimited texting between all Apple iOS 5 devices. This will be done through Wi-Fi or 3G and you will be able to send text, photo, video, locations and contacts. You’ll also be able to see when someone is typing and have the same conversation on multiple devices.

Mail. You can use rich text formatting(Bold, Italic and Underline), flag emails, drag addresses, search through your emails, use a Dictionary. You’ll get a free email account with iCloud.

Newsstand. An organizer for your newspaper and magazine subscriptions. New purchases will be stored in the Newsstand folder and any new issues will be updated.

Safari. You can browse website without being bothered by commercials, save articles to your Reading List, switch through websites easier.

Reminders. Lets you organize your “to do” lists. Because it includes Locations, it will alert you that you need to buy certain things when you reach the store, for example.

Camera. You can enable your camera directly from the Lock screen. With Photo Stream turned on in iCloud, you can download your pics to all your Apple devices.

Photos. You can send your pics to your iPad or any iOS device using iCloud. Editing is as easy as making a few finger movements.

Twitter. From now on, it will be easier to tweet from your Apple iOS gadget.

We don’t know for sure what the iPhone 5 will look like or exactly what its capabilities will be, but we know it’s going to include the new iOS on top of the other great features that Apple is keeping from us, for now.
